Open doors on Sciences 2024
About the Event
Held annually during World Space Week, the "Open Doors on Sciences" event at the Research Unit in Scientific Mediation and Culture in Constantine - Algeria, celebrates the wonders of space and science. A rich educational and scientific program, scientific animation, conferences, planetarium sessions, films and other fun activities will take place throughout the day, which will be aimed at the general public, and in particular at pupils and students, in an effort to popularize science to the public. This program coincides with the opening of the academic, school, and social year. It aims to introduce science in its beautiful and enchanting form. We will also have the participation of several national research institutions and research laboratories, including CRBT, CDTA, ASAL, CRM, CHAMS, as well as various scientific clubs from all over the country. This program, which is held on the occasion of the World Space week 2024, celebrates the opening of the world to space with the launch in 1957 of Sputnik, humanity's "scout". The theme this year will be "Space and Climate Change"

Dr. Geoffrey Marcy is a renowned astronomer celebrated for his groundbreaking discoveries of exoplanets. His work has revolutionized our understanding of planets outside our solar system, leading to the discovery of 70 of the first 100 planets ever found around other stars. He has received numerous awards for his contributions to the field of astronomy, including the Shaw Prize in Astronomy and the NASA Medal for Exceptional Scientific Achievement.
He is a the executif director of the Center for Space Laser Awareness - California, USA. His research continues to inspire new generations of scientists in the quest to explore distant worlds.
